Dra. Matilde Maddaleno Herrera, principal investigator. Medical Doctor - Pediatrician, specialist in Adolescent Medicine from University of Chile and Master in Public Health, with a mention in Epidemiology from the University of George Washington in USA.

She has served in different health and child programs and offices in Chile: Director of the Child Nutrition Program of the IV Region of the country (Zone of extreme poverty). OFASA / MINSAL program for prevention and treatment of Malnourished (1978-1980); Coordinator of the Rural Development Program (PRUMIN), of extension of coverage of health services in the rural area of MINSAL Chile and the World Bank (19761980); Director of the Adolescent and Youth Health Program of the Municipality of Peñalolén and Director of the Health Care Teaching Center of the Primary Care Clinic La Faena (Peñalolén) (1983-1989); Director of the Adolescent Health Program of the Peñalolén Primary Health Care Center in Santiago de Chile (1991-1996) and Director of the Adolescent and Youth Health Project supported by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (1992-1995). Also worked as Head of the Office of Cooperation and International Affairs, Cabinet of the Minister, Ministry of Health of Chile (2014-2018). Also, she has served as the Regional Advisor on Adolescent and Youth Health (1996-2012); Regional Advisor on Adolescent Health Division of Family and Community (1996-2012), and Head of the Healthy Life Course Division (2012-2014) at the Pan American Health Office (PAHO), the Regional Office of the World Health Organization.
